Freshman Black win over Kempner 33-0

Freshman White 12 North Shore 14

The freshman white football team went down in a hard fought battle Wednesday to North Shore 14-12. North Shore came out strong early posting 14 points while holding the Mav’s scoreless at halftime. Coming out for the second half with an inspired effort, the Mav’s defense was able to shut out North Shore during the second half. The Mav’s offense, starting to run on all cylinders, put up 12 second half points. The outcome of the contest came down to the last play of the game as the Mav’s were unsuccessful in converting their two point try. Standout performers for the Mav’s this week were: Xavier Elias, Isiah Juarez, and Stephen Figueroa. Despite the loss, there were plenty of positives to be taken from this game and the Mav’s will take those with them as they practice for next week’s opponent, Dickinson.
