JV Black

Lose to Kingwood 27-6

The Mavs lost a district game to the Kingwood Mustangs 27-6. The lone Mav score came on a short run by Israel Davila. J.D. Zapata and Nick Rojas hooked up for much of the Maverick offense. The defense was led by Damian Tolentino, Max Garza, Maleki Bethea, and Giovanni Zaso. The next JV game is Thursday versus Atascocita.

JV White

Lose to Kingwood 21-14

PMHS JV White experienced success as they went into halftime leading 14 – 7.  The Mavericks, however, unable to score in the second half, fell to Kingwood 21-14.
The Mavericks first score came defensively as Anthony White picked up a Kingwood fumble and took it the distance.  Offensively, Jeremiah Martinez delivered a pass to Matthew Martinez, behind the great protection of the offensive line, for the second touchdown. Other standouts for the game included Devin Pruneda and Cameron Juaregui.
Freshman Black
Defeat Kingwood 30-22

Congratulations to  PMHS Freshman Black for defeating Kingwood by the score of 30 to 22. The Mavericks played an outstanding second half increasing their lead to 16 points. Elvis Castro’s kicking ability led to 2 onside kicks being recovered which led to touchdowns. The Mavericks finished the game by kneeling on the Kingwood 1 yard line and preserving the win. This win was a great team effort.

Freshman White

Lose to Kingwood 21-14

The Pasadena Memorial Freshman White fell to Kingwood yesterday 21-14. It was a highly competitive game that featured multiple lead changes. After a slow start, the resilient Mav’s defense kept the game close until a late score decided the contest. The Mav’s offense has continued to improve and has shown the ability to dominate at times. The Mav’s will now focus their attention on their next opponent, Atascocita.
